A multinational group had already implemented CSRD-aligned reporting; however, the organisation faced challenges in CSRD audit outcomes. Audit findings highlighted opportunities to strengthen data management practices and the consistent application of Group standards across subsidiaries.

The primary challenge was therefore was transforming existing CSRD reporting into an audit-ready, controlled, and efficient process across a complex multinational structure.

We led a structured remediation and optimisation programme, taking ownership of CSRD reporting execution while strengthening governance and operational efficiency. Key activities included:

• Reviewing audit findings and redesigning reporting workflows to address root causes and close operational gaps.
• Managing and consolidating 300+ CSRD KPIs, ensuring clarity of ownership, documentation, and consistent methodologies across regions.
• Implementing data governance frameworks and internal controls to improve accountability, traceability, and data reliability.
• Developing data quality assurance and validation processes to detect discrepancies, ensure consistency, and strengthen audit evidence.
• Delivering data governance and CSRD reporting workshops to align cross-functional teams and standardise processes.
• Supporting local teams in applying Group standards and leading communication with external auditors on behalf of subsidiaries, in close coordination with senior leadership and operational functions.

• 75% improvement in CSRD FY24 audit results through consultancy, hands-on support, and cross-functional team coordination in DACH & the Americas, while continuously improving internal processes, achieving an impressive result of 95% improvement in data quality by the end of 2025.
• Significantly improved audit readiness through structured validation processes and clearly documented datasets.
